Well, most of you probably know about this, but for the few people that doesn't, blizzard has a page about the upcoming bw tournament. It gives you the details and rulesl of the tournament, check it out here .. Well I'm back, I haven't posted for weeks because I've been really busy lately, I have other stuff that's more important to me than updating this page, so you will see fewer updates from me. A pit stop at a dropped terran base. - Agelmar @ 6:50 PM
Why settle with using a dropped terran's marines to heal you, and everybody else? Why not kill em all, so that the enemy can't use them, and then Mind Control a SCV and build up with Terran to get Medics? (yeah, MC one medic so that you get his upgrades) The only players that use Medics are Terrans and Protoss, at least they're the only ones that need it. Zerg stuff is cheap, and Zerg heal themselves. If you are terran, get yer own medics. But if you are Toss, it's a great opportunity to nab a SCV and build up.

Well...I haven't found much news these last fews days that I feel was worth posting, or someone else beat me to posting it. I try not to post every single thing that the other major SC sites post, but I probably should. Anyway, I didn't do a lot of homework last week so this week I have to catch up. I should just be sitting at my computer doing some homework then checking some sites so don't expect any fewer posts from me. I also think Total Synopses is a pretty good site. I've asked the webmaster to put up a link to SC Millennium in his SC links page, and he agreed. Another great site is, of course, SC Infoceptor, and if you don't already go there, you should at least once. I kind of know their webmaster, Deathwing. I talk to him every once and a while. He's been busy latley with single player BW, cause he just got it a few days ago. When he's done I'll try to get him to put a link up to SC Millennium. In other stuff, I HATE AOL. They really piss me off. I USED to use AOL about a year ago, until I realized they SUCKED. So, I get a good ISP, get Netscape Communicator, and I'm having fun. Then they buy Netscape. That really pissed me off, but I continued to use Netscape. Then, I get ICQ, have lots of fun with it, then they buy THAT ALSO. They really piss me off. Anyway, as long as they don't change these I'll continue to use them. They are lucky they bought good products or else I would go to other things. Well, I'm about done with my ramblings, time to get back to homework.

Everyone is familiar with the trick of infesting a terran player's command center when they drop from the game right? Well, blizzard has made it possible for more leeching off of a terran player =Þ. I read off of SC:I(Starcraft Infoceptor) that you can use a terran players medics to heal your own guys when they drop. What next? Oh well, i guess its a good idea to get famililar with that. Pit stop at terran base anyone?

Aww man, I wanted USA to win :(

The USA vs Canada Brood War Tournament is complete! After nine 1on1 games, the final score is Canada 5, USA 4. Each game was very close, and the comradery between both sides was just wonderful. Report them to Blizzard! Blizzard Support answered someone's post about what to do about cheating. They responded with the offical ladder abuse page :). You can check it out right here. I think blizzard should have a top ten most wanted cheaters with mug shots and everything ;). Or a 'Cheater of the Month' page :). I guess that sums up my feelings about cheaters.

Well I went to one of my favorite sites Camelot Systems and for the 1st time I checked out there Top Sites section which I haven't looked at before (why I don't know I usually look at every part of a page...) anyway I noticed that SC:M was listed as one if the top sites... here's what was said:

I must say that I agree with them COMPLETELY! If we can get the attention and approval of great peepz like King Arthur then we should most definently get the complete approval of ALL other people of the world! :) Especially with our upcoming(HOPEFULLY!) BW section! Thanx a lot King Arthur!

SpaceDominator's Strategy Update - SpaceDominator @ 12:48 PM
O.K.. Where do I begin on what I'm gonna do with that strategy page.. Ah! Here's a good start. The Strategy Page is going to expand in to more different regions than the ones that you are used to seeing. I am starting to expand it into the more Mental/Personal and beyond stage.. In other words "Strategies that you learn in Starcraft, can be turned into other things in the future", it might sound kind of stupid now, but I'm serious about going into this field. Personal Feelings, and other things about the game of Starcraft and what the game TRULY teaches people about life and other things.. It might seem stupid.. but It won't be when I'm done with it. This doesn't mean the end for Starcraft Strategies by far! However, most of it will be based on Starcraft though there will be times when I go into other areas of gaming, and more stuff.. I'm just adding some more stuff that can be useful in other things(life, and other games). Time for Inspiration to begin for SpaceDominator.

Over at Camelot Systems, they just got a new staff member, Kramerboy. He's working on news and programming. Here's what he has to say:

Hey everyone... I'm your brand new Camelot Systems programmer/news guy whenever I get bored =). The main program I'm doing is SCTutor. It'll teach you on how to do hacks like adding weapons to stuff like Defilers, enabling new units, and other neat stuff like that. And it will teach you how to use all these comfusing programs that KA and Merlin make =). Actually now that I think about it, it'll need a new name, because I intend to expand it for Diablo Hacking once some of those come out, and my creative juices are sapped, so Email me if you have a cool suggestion. And I want to hear what you guys want for Tutorials, so I know what to write up =). I'm also doing WMakeDef. This is a program that generates default data files for SC, and (hopefully) will allow you to have it 'learn' new data files for TC makers. And finally I'm starting work on ASH - Advanced SCuM Hacker. Don't hold your breath for this one though =). I'm still working on decoding the CHK format for BW maps, and I have only done the visual design of it, but it should be cool when it's done. So if you happen to have anything (USEFUL) that you'd like to suggest, Email me, or whisper me on BNet (Psionic4LiFe). I figure I'll be making another post in the near future telling you all to stop bugging me but oh well =).

I know. I know. It's not Starcraft, but Keith Jackson one of the best College Football Announcers that I have ever heard in my short life is retiring in 30 minutes of Football. Turn onto ABC for the 2nd Half of the National Championship, and here the voice of one of the fondest memories in College Football. Trust me, if you don't your missing out on something very historical.. in a smaller sense.
For you Starcraft people, i am going to say: Get out of Starcraft for once in your lives and watch a Football game. Or watch something that you enjoy, trust me it will make you feel better. I am gonna miss College Football, but now i get a year of time to look forward to the 1999 Season.

StarDraft bug fixes - Squaredot @ 02:52 AM
The Gang over at Camelot Systems have released an updated version of StarDraft to compensate for some bugs. King Aurthur has also released the BW MPQ ID File for use in mpqviewer. Here is a copy of the email he sent me:

Camelot Systems would like to apologize for the fact that the Self-Executing CWADs did not work if you downloaded the version of StarDraft SE that was made available this morning. We have fixed the problem and have uploaded a new copy of StarDraft to our website (both versions were updated). We also updated Arsenal II and MPQ Viewer with two bug fixes.   Since we finally got the new Self-Executing CWADs working and I wanted to show my appreciation for everyone's patience with us, I have uploaded a (working) Self-Executing CWAD that will allow you to utilize the AI Scripts that you normally have no access to that Blizzard added in StarCraft 1.04/Brood War. This Self-Executing CWAD is available from the Camelot Systems website as well. (http://camelot.warzone.com)

Something interesting I noticed... - Edrob @ 01:45 AM
I was playing Zelda madness or something a few days ago, when I noticed something wierd. When the time ran out, I has less points so I lost...and the "You failed to acheive victory" window came up, and fog of war covered up the map. When the game ended, there was a lurker attacking my units...and when fog of war covered everything up, I could still see the lurkers attack through fog of war. I decided to run a test because I thought it might have been a one-time thing...and I found out it wasn't. Here is a screen shot from the test I took:

Heh...i've heard of being able to see a valk's attack through fog of war, but not lurkers...so I thought this might be interesting to post. I guess that's just another bug for Blizzard to fix in the next patch.

I just read his post below and I would like to say some more about that program. It _does not_ work on battle.net, if you use it and then play a game, you will be disconnected right away. It only works on single player games, and it's just for fun. With this new version, you will be able to make changes and then impliment them into a map, and then other people will be able to play it with the new settings on a use map settings map. So I hope this is still alright, if not I'll drop it. Apologies,

Hey everyone, after checking out just about everything at SC Millennium (Great stuff, everyone) I decided to go over to one of my favorite Software company's webpage. (Nope, not Blizzard, sorry) It's Camelot Systems, the makers of StarDraft, the best (and only, I think) editor for SC. When SC 1.04 and BW came out, their old version became obsolete, meaning they needed a new version. I for one have been waiting for this ever since 1.04 came out. They should be releasing the new version tommorow. You should go check it out, if you've never heard of this editor before, it's a must. You can do almost anything with the editor to SC or BW...all the way from change the graphics of your units to making your marines have shields. To get to the point, this new version is supposed to be a lot better and a lot more user friendly..it took me 2 days to figure out the old version. So if you're bored, go check out Camelot Systems to learn more about this program. The program is still a little complicated, so, when it comes out and if you get it, you can e-mail me with your questions. If I can't answer them, I'll find someone who can. :) -Edrob

Anyhow, welcome aboard! Also, today is the first day that all of the dates on the main page show 1999! Gawd that's cool! Well, its about 11:40 here (GMT - 5 (EST)), so I'm gonna go read my book and hit the sack. For all of you who are wondering, the time displayed on our page next to our posts is GMT-4. (That is also referred to as the Atlantic or Canadian Atlantic time zone, but GMT-4 is it's proper name. GMT is obviously Greenwich Mean Time, and it's 4 hours behind that. Eastern Time is GMT-5, Central GMT-6 etc.)Wellp, I'm done. G'Night!

I know everyone enjoyed clobbering us the First Time, now let's try that again this month! On January 16th-17th, we will be holding our 2nd Beat the Staff Tournament. This time Agelmar will probably be able to show up, so you might see him lose too(j/k agelmar!). It's a Sunday-Monday, and it will be an Afternoon-Evening Event! So be on the lookout. ALSO, 3 NEW REPORTS ARE UP from the last one. Watch me get beaten by Phreeb(Excellent Player), and by a pretty good team! Don't worry, I'll only get better.... Updates to SC:M - Agelmar @ 7:27 PM
Well, IE5 is as easy to install as I said it was. SD must have experienced a fluke or something. The only thing that may make it difficult is if you are impatient. Virtual machine for offline Java can take up to ten minutes on slower machines, and 4 on faster machines, to install. If you shut off your comp during that time period because you are impatient, well naughty boy! Secondly, yes, it is snowing here in Ann Arbor! (SD and I both live in Ann Arbor and are good friends.) Michigan also won their bowl! So did Wisconson! They won the rose bowl! It was a good, close game! UCLA just couldnt keep up. First WI scored, then UCLA scored back, then WI again, then UCLA, then UCLA again, then WI, then WI, then UCLA, and then WI. Oh well, it's too complicated. Mabye I got something wrong there, but I don't think so. Oh well I'm stressed out. I am in the middle of the Blizzard of '99, and yes, that is what it is officially being called. Lastly, it's a new month, and a new year, so I put up a new Poll of the Month. This month's topic: Which race is weakest in Brood War? Protoss, Terran, Zerg, or are they all equal! Head on down to the bottom of the page and vote! Well, its time for dinner, so this is Agelmar signing off.

Well.. The subject probably tells something I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan and the snow is falling in humongous amounts. Now, Internet Explorer 5.0 Yes It is good, but it is not as easy to install as AGELMAR says.. I thought I'd just tell everyone. Also, I was supposed to be at my Grandma's all day but the Snow Storm sent me home! : ( Now, I have nothing to do so I'm gonna write some more strategies for you guys to look at.. Possible Strategies that may or may not come Up:
Brood War Strategies- More like the one yesterday about the Lurker Rush. Except, I am thinking about doing strategies more like "How to USE the Lurker Rush", or strategies that make you actually use the units.
Original SC Stuff- Yeah, I might write a couple more strategies about things in Original Starcraft.
Starcraft BETA Strategies- This will be something that I will enjoy doing as I go back in my memory book and I show you guys what happened a long time ago in the SC Beta.
ALSO, If people can send me statistics of their games against the Computer AI, in different amounts. PLEASE DO! I plan on Analyzing the Computer's true difficulty but I need some stat's to analyze. If that means Screenshots send em in. This I hope would help the COMMUNITY out as it would help show how to counter against the MIGHTY CPU.
Seems like a lot Huh? Well, we'll see what I can pump out today!

Wellp, I just downloaded Netscrap Navigator 4.5, and here's what I think: It blows! Here are my reasons why:

• CSS support is still half-ass and does not support A:HOVER nor does it support linked CSS well.
• VBScript? Nope... IE Is still the only browser to support VBS, and it's been supporting it since IE3!
• Java? No 1.3... still the same old 1.2 standard!
• W3 Consortium standards for FORMs? Still complies, but only complies! In IE, you can have a SUBMIT button, or an INPUT field without specifying a FORM field complete with actions. No such luck in Netscrap 4.5
• New layout? Nope! The same as good ol' 4.07.
• Better security? Hell no! Still have the What's Related, which sends back a ton of info to Netscape. Easy as heck to hack into.
• IntelliMouse support? Still sucks. Whenever you load a page, if you use the IntelliWheel on any Microsoft IntelliMouse or WheelMouse, it still scrolls the recent addresses, hence redirecting you immediately to another page. And, you cannot click the IntelliWheel and move your mouse up and down to scroll at varying rates of speed as you can in IE4/5.
• DHTML support? Still isn't half as great as IE4's, and it doesn't hold a candle to IE5's DHTML rendering.

Well, it seems as if the Brood War ladder has been delayed :(. Season 1 of Brood War ladder won't start unitl the 8th of January instead of the 1st like first thought. Blizzard has an offical announcement about it right here.

Happy new year!!! Well, 1999 is right around the corner! Im going out tonight, so this is probably the last you'll hear from me today. so, Happy new year! Wow... I can't believe 1999 is tonight! Guess what? Our script isn't Y2K compliant! That oughta be fun! I'll worry about that tomorrow ;-). Anyhow, the news script should have no problem with 1999, but if it does... well, I'll fix it then. So once again, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Someone emailed me and said, "I thought the sound was pretty good!" The only sound is this trickeling sound which is meant to sound like a creek, but instead sounds like some old geezer taking a leak! Once you find your spot on the map that looks promising, (You move around on this big cheesy map that has awful gfx. Where there might be deer there are signs such as deer droppings or deer rubbings), you hit "hunt". God, thats an awful lot like Oregon Trail! ;-) Anyhow, after you hit hunt, you are brought up this crappy gfx screen where you can turn 360°. You cannot move after hitting "Hunt". You could in Oregon Trail..... ;-) You now hear the old man taking a leak, and this crappy 28 second looped soundtrack which basically has birds chirping and someone else hunting, although there is nobody else in sight. If you really wanna hunt deer that bad, here is my reccomendation: Go buy Oregon Trail, it's a lot cheaper - like $7.50 US, and hit Hunt. More deer, more functionality, about the same gfx and sound for a lot less $.

Review of the #2 selling game - Deer Hunter - Agelmar @ 10:53 AM
Well, I burned a copy of the Deer Hunter CD - for trial purposes only - (my friend has it), and it was the lamest game that I have ever seen! There is no strategy to it, there is no action to it (Its a lot like the Hunting feature of Oregon Trail), and the graphics really blow. (Again, like the old Oregon trail on those 5 1/4" disks for the old Apple GSII). The music is so-so, but doesn't hold a candle to the music in Starcraft, much less the kick ass music in BW!
My verdict: If you are thinking about buying Deer Hunter after reading my review, you are either

• Rich
• Mentally challenged
• An avid deer hunter
• One of those church people who come around door to door trying to open us up to Christ and to convert to Roman Catholicism so that we may feel God and pray to Him and toss our little donations in the little donations thing.

A really long string has popped up about the issue of cheating. It even got the attention of Shlonglor. I think people have produced 3-4 different ways of preventing cheating and they all won't work :\. Hows that for ya? Anyway, you can read the post and reply with your thoughts and feeling about those cheating scum right here. Cheaters beware! :)

Wellp, I was suprised and got a vacation to Toronto for Monday, Tuesday and Today, Wednesday! It was my main X-Mas present ;-). Because of this, I was not able to play in most of the Beat the Staff stuff. There will be a final game between me and somebody and Spacedominator and somebody. The 'somebodies' will be the first people to be in channel scmillennium at 1PM EST tomorrow! If you beat me, or SD, your name will appear on our page! What an honor! ;-).

Well, The Final Match didn't happen tonight. It will have to happen tomorrow at around 12:00, it'll be the final game we think.. Unless we win.. Then we got a tie... It's currently 6-4, and the Final Match counts as 2. It should be exciting. One match, and the final results will be determined on this game.. Hope to see ya tomorrow! We'll have the Battle Reports up soon as well.
I am predicting that the NEXT Beat the Staff Event will happen on January 16th-17th. It should be more fun against the Staff. Hope to see ya guys there!(That'll be a Sunday and Martin Luther King Day).

Just wanted to write a quick reminder about Beat The Staff, come on at around 12:00 EST, in the channel SC Millennium. I will explain how the event will go, in that channel. Go into Brood War, and Join the Channel SC Millennium. I will be seen as SPACEDOMINATOR, for the next two days.. Hope to see you there.. I have some interesting ideas for it. There should be at least 2-3 of us to begin, but ya never know there could be more. We have a pretty large staff.

War 2 conversion back - Squaredot @ 11:32 AM
Infoceptor's Deathwing has announced that his War 2 TC is coming back. It will feature some new units/buildings and brand new art work. Deathwing also said that due to the current version of stardraft's incompatability with Brood War, he will have to wait until a new version to come out to start working on it.
