Just a friendly little warning to the community, from the good folks at SC:M.

If you get an email from "zorn" saying "Hi! How are you?" followed by some poor english, usually something about wanting advice, with a subject of "Study Questions - Assignment 4", do NOT open it. The attachment is a copy of the W32.Sircam.Worm@mm worm, and it ain't pretty.This person obviously isn't the freshest cookie on the platter, trying to disguise a worm as homework in the middle of summer, but oh well. Do not open it, it's a bit of a pain to remove.

Hope this helps some of you out there.

On a side note, I emailed Symantec, and apparently they know about the recent outbreak, there are popups about it on their site all over the place. If you have opened the file, or think you might be infected, a tool to remove the worm and instructions on how to use the tool are available here for your convenience.
