General Description:

I always loved drawing…and StarCraft.

In my country (Romania- but now I live in Canada), StarCraft appeared in ’98, much later than in other countries. I was very impressed by this game’s graphics-I think people worked really hard for this, because when I am looking at the face of a Terran (for example) I can’t believe that is not real…

So, I thought that it would be cool if I’ll try to draw such things.

Well, I started with the classic pencil and paper. I made a lot of hand-made pictures and they looked very nice and cool. These pictures included Archons, Carriers, Goliaths and even Zerglings! Unfortunately, I do not have a scanner, so I cannot send these pictures to SC:M.

So, one day I decided to try to draw a StarCraft character on the computer. I only had one kind of drawing software available on my computer, the classic Windows Paintbrush. Maybe some of you will think that this isn't a professional graphics program and you are correct. However, you can see that it works and there are some cool things that can be done with it. These pictures are also 100% made on the computer with the "mouse" without the use of a scanner.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Terran Cybermarine-
  • My first picture made on the computer

  • I worked on it for 3 hours.

  • I didn't look at any StarCraft picture as I was drawing this picture.

  • I had some problems drawing his feet, as you can tell they are NOT perfect.

  • I made him with a lot of cool armor, that's why I called him "cyber"

  • When I drew him, I wanted it to be strong, proud and big.

Protoss Dark Templar-
  • Two Hours
  • I wanted it to be very "dark"- that's why I made him a black coat.
  • I didn't make his "psi blades", because I wanted to make it simple and expressive.
  • After drawing it's head and body, I thought that it was not enough, so I added that crystal in his hand.

Terran Goliath-
  • I worked on this picture for four hours.
  • I added two green cables, to be more interesting than the original one.
  • Yes, I admit, this drawing was inspired from the Goliath's original picture, but you have to admit that this guy is cool, really cool..
  • As you can see on the Marine, the Goliath's feet are also not "perfect", but that's about it.

Protoss High Templar
  • I spent three hours drawing it.
  • If you ask me, it's the coolest picture of all 5.
  • For this guy, I really worked hard.
  • It took me almost an hour, to make it's skin.
  • Yes, this guy has really big hands. Perhaps, too big?
  • I wanted it to be very mystical, like a legend.

Zerg Hunter Killer-
  • I spent two hours on this one.
  • I know it's not as cool as the others, I made it in a hurry. However, I think it's pretty good, it expresses a lot of scary things.
  • At first, I made it without blood but then I added some and I called it "Hunter KILLER"
Well, nobody’s perfect, so I’m waiting for YOUR suggestions and opinions about this pictures and about what should I do for future, or any other things at this e-mail address:
