Diary of Captain Raymond Charlson

Diary of Captain Raymond Charlson, Second in Command of the Brontes VII Militia of the Koprula Sector, page 104:

Today I made one of the greatest accomplishments of my career. I was leading my 20-Man patrol down one of the gorges here on Brontes VII. It was just one of our everyday routines, and we never expected what would happen next. One of the men at the back thought that he had heard something, and he reported immediately to me. He wasn't all that that experienced, though. He just sad that it sounded like someone spitting or something. He didn't think it was serious, but I knew it dang-well was. I told all of the men to get on guard, and not a moment too soon. 10, no 15 zerglings come astormin' towards us. Activating our stimpacks, we fired at them like maniacs. 10 of them were already down when the remaining 5 started to turn tail and run. They were like lambs to the slaughter, but one got away. Two privates, Tim Jeffrey and August McDonald volunteered to go after him, or it! I of course agreed, providing that they didn't stray to far away from the team. 10 minutes went by, and they didn't return. I knew something was up, so I we steered towards the direction they went. Not five minutes later, we heard a loud roar, and it struck fear into each and every one of us. Then my worst fears were confirmed. 3 of the biggest Ultralisks I had ever seen or heard of charged into view. The Zerg must have planned a surprise invitation by sending in these monsters onto our unsuspecting base. I quickly took action. Splitting my forces into 2 and hiding them on opposite sides of the gorge, we fired at the rampaging monsters. The results were astoundin'! The first one fell within the first shootout, its organs splattering everywhere. Unfortunately 5 of my men were taken to, but they fought to the finish. The second one lost one leg and couldn't move from the spot, so we concentrated on the third one, aiming for his head, which soon splattered into pieces. Its body fell with a loud thud onto the ground. We then wasted the second one, and we realized that we had moved so fast that the lumbering elephants could hardly see us. We also realized that we had saved Brontes VII, We returned to base.
