Mental Strategy:

Title: How To Mentally Prepare For A Teammate

All right. You don't know how sickening it is for me to see people who are trying to be on the same team argue, and argue and argue over some stupid little detail in the game of Starcraft. This is something that is WRONG!! If you are going to play a team game you need to be prepared for whatever this guy has to offer to your experience in Starcraft. Why would you want an arguing match?(But.. i'm on the debate team!) =) Anyways, this guide is going to detail you on how to be a good teammate, and what to prepare for from a Teammate.

Let's begin with something that people in the Starcraft Community sure know a great deal about. Criticizm. Every player in the game of Starcraft is bound to criticize you about how you play the game of Starcraft. Let's get this point straight from the get-go, this is WRONG!! You see, if Starcraft was truly a game of immense strategies then every last player in the game would have their own way to manage and get up the trees of life.(Tech-Tree's of course) =) Why do you criticize a person for playing the game of Starcraft in a variation of the way your playing it? Everyone doing the same thing in the game of Starcraft would make it a very boring RTS strategy game? Wouldn't it? After all, how would you feel if every game in Starcraft was based on the Zergling Rush and lasted 3 minutes? You would be looking for a new game at that point on. So if you want to make your team games happy, don't criticize, accept it!!

Battle.Net will offer you a ton of unique characters on the internet. To be exact about 10,000 new characters a day. You will be bound to experience new strategies and would adapt to a certain person's strategies a little more. That's always something to consider when thinking about a teammate for a team game. Would you want to take a chance on having a new player that you've never played the game of Starcraft before? Or would you want to have a teammate that you know what they do, and you can quickly and easily adapt and assist their strategy? Of course, the second option would be more viable but I would take the chance. After all, you never know their strategy might end up being better then your best friend's strategy. This I've noticed clearly in games of Starcraft. The experiences would be better when you don't know who your partner is because you'll learn some new things in every game of Starcraft you play, except when you play with only one teammate throughout your days.

Now a Teammate or Teammates and you, have to beat another set of people. If you are to mentally prepare for this before a game. Assume your going to be running your own strategy, unless your partner has their own ideas. 75-80% of the time a partner on Battle.Net will let you do your strategy while doing his own and hoping for the mix to work. It's an interesting proposal because it allows for you to concentrate on one thing while he'll concentrate on his own. There are a few noticable problems however, I see in this. First of all this will cause for the two of you to go on your own seperate ways which limits the possibility of teamwork. This could end up hurting you due to the fact that 2 of them vs 1 and 1 will produce some seriously horrific results. =) However, this can definatly work as long as you and your partner stay with in contact of each other to continue to update your going on's with each other.

Let's go into the next part of this strategy. Communication. Another very important detail that you need to really consider when playing a team game, you will need to communicate with your partner to discuss strategies and discuss your game plan for the War. True.. you could always ignore this and go into a battle with your sword at home but let's not discuss what I did back then.... =) Besides communication is vital in any team game, of any sort. Starcraft is no exception to this law of physics..(Which one.. I wonder...) However, communication will definatly determine whether your going to win or lose because of the opportunity of forgetting something very imporant, not hearing about an attack that is killing your partner.. they all can cost you a game. It's important to communicate. Understand! Good.

Now, In conclusion to this document. A Teammate can be anyone you wish, accept them for who they are, do your own idea, and talk with them? You'll find that your Team Game win percentage will be going up by 1% every day....(and -5% every other day...). Well, let's not talk about that, ok? =)
