Mental Strategies Part #4:   

Title: Bragging. What a Dumb Thing To Do!

Your in a game, your record is 72-26.. your opponents record is 3-13. The Most common reaction is to brag about how good your record is compared to your opponents. This is something called Bragging, however it is also one of the most common things for people NOT to admit to. Trust me, I know a few people who fit this topic really well.. Bragging is stupid, Bragging just means that there is something weak about you.. or there's something you want to hide.(Maybe your true ability at the game.) A record means nothing. Bragging can hurt.. You brag to someone it gives them that urge to want to kill even more.. Trust me, in those situations the games get ugly. I've seen it.. I've been around it.. Friends truly brag about things to each other, and even I brag. However people DO not EVER ADMIT it(Ian.. Brian... ANDREW) Trust me.. when i got my new Computer I was REALLY happy so I wanted to tell people about it.. However, I bragged about it.. They weren't too happy. The Point is: If you Brag people will not want to play with you, and make it 2x harder than it already is to find a game. This can be effect for ANY Game, if people can find out about your personality. Personality is another issue that i'd like to cover in this Mental Strategy. If people view you as a Lunatic that loves to brag, then you will be the one sitting at the edge of a street alone while everyone else is partying in Town Square. However, if people view you as a person that just is looking for a good game then they'll show you more respect and probably be willing to play. People, If you act smart, and kind IT WILL reward you instead of hurt you. Friends of mine, truly need a few lessons in this.. It's also a little bit about respect, Respecting other people means you are willing to show them fairness in a game. It will help you to be kind because if your kind, they'll be kind. Here's what this stuff has to do with the Mental Portion of a game or anything:

• Bragging will hurt you more than help you: Let me just say this, if you brag you will lose your game. If you win, it's because of skill not because of your pure rudeness and/or sneerness. Bragging hurts you mentally because the brain and you think that you are the best and you will win with one hand behind your back. It will hurt. If a kid heard you brag and they could.. they would punch ya in the nose so hard... that you might be in the hospital. Trust me, Bragging will HURT a ton more than kindness.
• Bragging is a Sign of Judging Themselves too highly: Yes, Bragging is usually a sign of someone who thinks they are too good for anyone else, and needs to show it to others. Is this good mentally? The answer is the opposite of yes. WHAT Could you be thinking? Does bragging actually help anything? Sure it does.. but it's not the person you want it to help.
• Bragging shows Weakness: If you brag, it shows that you are weak in something.. That might show a weakness in being mentally skilled, or thinking again of themselves too highly or the all mighty powerful person. Trust me, if you do that instead people will nail you into the ground so hard, that you would regret it for a long time.

O.K.. That's it.. This should proove that Bragging is a part of your game plan that you don't need, it'll hurt ya more than help ya.
