Battle Report: 2 vs me by GodLikeEyes

Game : 2 vs 1
Position : Left-middle position
It was a little lan party that I had at my house. It was me(GodLikeEyes)
and two of my friends, one(KickAss) was kinda new at this and the other
(XLR8) was so-so. I was protoss and kickass and XLR8 were terran. I went
for mass scouts with a lot of cannons and a few zealots for the seige tanks
as a defense. My defense would hold me as long as I expanded quickly and
had lots of cannons around my minerals to keep a constant cash flow. Lucky
me the others went for wraiths and ghosts for nukes and lockdown. So I had
lots of time to build up a defense for any rush they might bring on me. I
upgraded as quickly as I could. The first rush came about 15 min into the
game. Their plan was to get a team of wraiths each and attack me with a
team of marines waiting behind to finish me off. With the mass amounts of
cannons the wraiths didn't last long (They were everywhere). By this time I
only had about 6-8 scouts and about 2 upgrades on them. I saw their
marines waiting in the background and sent a zealot out there to lure one or
more of them in. About 6 followed my zealot onto all those cannons and all
were dead before they knew what was happening. The wraiths were gone (lost
one scout) and the marines were still there (lower in number). I knew
they were going to rebuild and come again in about 3 min with another
strike of wraiths so I killed off all the remaining marines and took a probe
to their base and started building cannons all around their base. The
cannons were taken out by seage tanks after XLR8 flew 4 wraiths into them
and lost them. I knew I had to atack their mineral patches to get as many
peons as I could to slow down there production of the wraiths. I flew a
team of scouts into XLR8's base and started smashing peons left and right
taking some damage from his missle turrets so I directed them to attack
them then finish off what was left. That didn't last long when about 17
wraiths from the both of them flew in cloked and took out all of my scouts
(they lost all but 4). Now It was a race to see who could get air units
and attack asap. I had 5 scouts done back at home and 4 stargates pounding
out scouts while I was gone. That was not fast enough for me so I built 2
more and had lots of cash to spend doing it. With all the extra cash I
built zealots and dragoons and attacked here and there on their base keeping
them busy till I was ready to give them the big hit! I had observers all
over their base to see where they had weak spots and strong spots. This
helped me target the best place to do the most damage to them. I took
templars and dark templars with 2 teams of scouts to there base. I used
the templars to kill any thing around missle turrents and then used dark
templars to take out the rest. Any time there wraiths tried to stop the push
an observer would uncloak them and they were toast after that. I had
upgraded all armor and weapons on my aircraft and was mowing them down with
this combination. I took out XLR8's main base and started on KickAss's
base when I got there, much to my suprise about 4 teams of wraiths with SV's
and ghost were there to greet me. I got lockdown on half of one team and
the others were gitting toasted by the wraiths after my observer was gone.
I tried to retreat and did only to be left with 8 scouts and 1 dark templar
(almost dead). XLR8 had expanded upper right and had been sending all his
ppl to kickass's base to make sure they were going to live. Back at home I
had more scouts ready and dark templars ready and 3 or 4 reavers. I then
secured my base from any attack and just starting building scouts,
carriers, reavers, and dark templars. There were a few attacks on my base
with seige tanks to take out my cannons but they were taken out by dark
templars. They got off a nuke on one side trying to make a whole for them
to go threw but I had an observer there waiting for him next time. This
let me build up 3 teams of scouts, 2 carriers, 6 reavers, and 1 team of
DT's. I went to their base and had it out with all the wraiths with
observers everywhere, smoked them and then took all the ground units out
with my ground units. This cleared the way for my air so I could bring
them in to do some more damage without missle turrets hitting me. I had
almost all of my men, less one scout and a reaver that got to close, and
was doing good with my teams hotkeyed in. I took out their main and got
what was left at the top with my carriers and scouts. End of the game for
them two..........
Lessons:
1. Secure your base in all directions
2. Lots of peons gathering minerals
3. Build fast with more then one building
4. Always be building even when your attacking
5. Expand quickly if you can
6. OBSERVERS!!!!
